Kids Orienteering 101

This class is geared for kids 10 and older. In the 101 class, students will learn the parts of a compass, what the symbols on a map mean, and how to navigate and confirm the correct direction using their compass. They will also learn about pace counting. This class is held completely outdoors at Little Bennet Regional Park.  We will complete the “beginners course”. It about 2.5 miles with a 225ft elevation gain. We will be going at a slow pace so that they can identify the land features that they see on the map. Each student gets a compass to take home.
