Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need To Bring to Class
Once your registration has been confirmed, you will receive an email with what you will need for class. For the WFA class, please do not go out and buy anything for the class. We provide all of the training materials you need. For any class, you are welcome to bring materials for notes or snacks.
What is the minimum age for your classes?
For our WFA Class, students must be at least 14 years old. We do allow 13 year olds, if they will be attending a high adventure camp that summer. Please note that we do not change the content of the class if there are younger students. This class has some graphic pictures and mature discussions. CPR/First Aid Certification class, the minimum age is 12 (unless taking the Babysitting class and they can be 11). Babysitting class is 11 years old. Kids Survival Jr., recommended age is 5-10, and Kids Survival Class recommended age is 10+.
Can you create a custom class?
Yes! We love creating custom classes. We work with our customers to give them what they are looking for. We have created custom classes for the National Park Service, Wild and Free, and Field School, as well as private clients.
Do your WFA classes meet requirements for BSA High Adventure Camps and for NICA Level 3 Coaches
Yes!! Our Wilderness First Aid class is ECSI certified and meets all requirements for BSA high adventure camps and NICA Level 3 Coaches. All certifications are good for 2 years.
Can we host our own class?
We can travel for CPR/First Aid Classes. You need a minimum of 6 students to avoid a travel fee. Due to the amount of supplies needed and/or the nature of the class, we will only teach at our location for WFA, Baby Sitting, and Kids Survival. We can set up a private class at our location if you have the minimum number of students. We find that it is easier for most people to join an existing WFA class than to try to set up their own, but we are always willing to work with you.
What is your cancellation policy?
We put a lot of time and energy getting ready for each class. Many classes require us to order materials and put them together for each student. Each class also has a maximum, so when a student cancels, that takes away for another student to take that class.
The current cancellation policy for WFA is : “Includes a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee. If the student cancels after 5 p.m. the Friday one week before the class, the student will not receive a refund, thereby forfeiting the entire class fee. This includes “no-shows” and students that do not participate in the entire class. If the instructors cancel the class for any reason, the student will receive a full refund.”
For all other classes the non-refundable fee is $25 .
