What do I need To Bring to Class

Once your registration has been confirmed, you will receive an email with what you will need for class. For the BWFA and WFA class, please do not go out and buy anything for the class. We provide all of the training materials you need. For any class, you are welcome to bring materials for notes or snacks.

What is the minimum age for WFA?

Students must be at least 14 years old. We do allow 13 year olds, if they will be attending a high adventure camp that summer. Please note that we do not change the content of the class if there are younger students. This class has some graphic pictures and mature discussions.

Should I take WFA or BWFA?

Please visit our class description page to see the differences between the classes. In both classes you will learn to efficiently handle wilderness emergencies. The WFA class does go more in depth in many topics and there is more hands-on.

Do your classes meet requirements for BSA High Adventure Camps?

Yes!! Our Wilderness First Aid class is ECSI certified and meets all requirements for BSA high adventure camps. All certifications are good for 2 years. Please note that the Basic Wilderness First Aid class does not meet BSA requirements for high adventure.

Can we host our own class?

Yes you can. You must meet a minimum of 6 students to hold a class. For all classes except WFA, we can come to your location at no additional charge. We find that it is easier for most people to join an existing WFA class then to try to set up their own, but we are always will ing to work with you.

What is your cancellation policy?

We put a lot of time and energy getting ready for each class. Many classes require us to order materials and put them together for each student. Each class also has a maximum, so when a student cancels, that takes away for another student to take that class.

The current refund policy is : “Includes a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee. If the student cancels after 5 p.m. the Friday one week before the class, the student will not receive a refund, thereby forfeiting the entire class fee. This includes “no-shows” and students that do not participate in the entire class. If the instructors cancel the class for any reason, the student will receive a full refund.”

For CPR or First Aid classes the non-refundable fee is $15 and $25 for CPR/First Aid , and Survival classes.
