This class is designed for all outdoor adventurers regardless of previous medical experience.  Minimum age for this class is 14 years old (unless you are going to a high adventure camp within the year). Class runs from 8:30am until 6:30pm both days. If you would like to take the optional CPR/AED, we break for an hour on Saturday for dinner then begin CPR/AED, finishing around 9:15pm. At all classes, we offer a dinner of lasagna (with meat), Texas toast, salad, and brownies ($8).

In this class we cover: Being prepared, how to get help, patient assessments, documentation, medical emergencies, moving patients, toxins, first aid kits, bleeding and bandaging, environmental emergencies, trauma, and splinting. We use a combination of lecture and hands-on time, including several small scenarios.

We provide all of the training materials and you will  take home a waterproof WFA Field Guide.  Students also receive certification cards through Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI) that are good for two years. This class is approved for BSA High Adventure and for NICA Coaches Level 1-3.

After you have submitted payment, you will receive an email with all of the class information and a class registration form.Complete the form and return it before class.  This will complete your registration.

 

Cancellation and Refund Policy

The current refund policy for Emergency Response Training classes is as follows: "Includes a $50.00 non-refundable registration fee. If the student cancels after 5 p.m. the Friday one week before the class, the student will not receive a refund, thereby forfeiting the entire class fee. This includes "no-shows" and students that do not participate in the entire class. If the instructors cancel the class, the student will receive a full refund."
